Composition

How the Star Buddy design is constructed.

Star Buddy is an original friendly mascot made from a five-point star and a very small face. The character succeeds through generous empty space and simple expression layers.

The dark rear star creates an outline, a yellow foreground star supplies the body, and compact eye, mouth, and focus shapes sit near the lower center.

BO2 reconstruction status

A native-shape guide is available.

This guide uses 15 documented BO2-native shapes and shows the layer order step by step for manual reference.

The online template and exported PNG are planning references. They cannot be imported into BO2 or synchronized with a game account.

Color decisions

Why this palette works

Warm yellow makes the mascot friendly, charcoal outlines every point, and pale facial details stay small. Avoid coloring each star point differently.

Focal point: The tiny face inside the much larger star is the focal surprise.

Make it yours

Three useful variations

  • Change the mouth curve for a sleepy or serious mood.
  • Use cyan for a night-sky mascot.
  • Add a small off-center focus as a cheek mark.

Quality control

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Placing facial features too far apart.
  • Losing the dark outline on one star point.
  • Making the face so large that the star becomes a frame.
