Animal BO2 Emblem Design Guide

Turn wolves, foxes, birds, snakes, and horned animals into readable BO2 emblem silhouettes and mirrored layers.

10 minute BO2 tutorial - Updated July 2026

Identify the animal by silhouette

Ears, horns, wings, jaw shape, and body curve identify an animal before the eyes do. Select two defining features and exaggerate them enough to survive at thumbnail size.

Use your own animal photo or an original sketch when a reference is needed, and simplify rather than trace every contour.

Build the head around a center axis

For wolves, foxes, cats, and horned masks, establish the nose or forehead line first. Complete one ear, cheek, and eye group before mirroring the opposite side.

Construct birds and snakes with direction

Wings need repeated feather angles and a clear body center. Snakes need a simple S-curve, head wedge, and one strong eye or mouth mark rather than many scale details.

Use natural color selectively

The animal does not need realistic color. A dark structural tone, pale face plate, and one bright signal color often produce stronger recognition.

Follow the available steps

Place rear fur, wing, or horn shapes first, then face plates, eyes, and highlights. A browser animal template is inspiration only unless it includes a step-by-step Build Guide.

Practical example

Compare Signal Wolf, Circuit Fox, and Neon Hawk. Wolf recognition comes from ears and muzzle, fox recognition from larger ears and a narrow jaw, and hawk recognition from wings and a descending beak. Each animal needs a different silhouette priority.

Choose the feature family before adding eyes. A perfect eye pair cannot rescue a head with the wrong ears, wings, horns, or jaw. Test the outer shape as a single dark region first.

Templates used in this guide

Signal Wolf

Signal Wolf reduces a wolf head to ears, cheek planes, eyes, and a pointed muzzle. Cyan stripes suggest electronic tracking signals without turning the animal into a detailed illustration.

The charcoal silhouette supplies ears and jaw width. Pale mirrored face plates form the cheeks, cyan stripes pull the eye toward the center, and the muzzle, nose, and chin complete a descending diamond rhythm.

Charcoal defines fur mass, off-white creates facial planes, and cyan is reserved for ears, signal stripes, eyes, and the final chin. Too much cyan will flatten the face.

Try this variation: Use amber signals for a warmer scout identity.

Circuit Fox

Circuit Fox combines a pointed animal mask with electronic face traces. The ears and tapered jaw establish the fox, while cyan plates suggest a constructed signal device.

The dark silhouette supplies ears and cheeks. Cyan mirrored side regions frame a central face core, and the pale lower pattern defines muzzle and circuit breaks.

Cyan should outline the technological planes, charcoal holds the animal mass, and pale gray is reserved for the lower face. Keep the center dark enough to separate both sides.

Try this variation: Use orange traces for a desert fox.

Neon Hawk

Neon Hawk uses a broad wingspan and descending beak to create speed. Angular feather planes replace realistic plumage, keeping the bird practical within a limited layer stack.

The rear silhouette defines wing tips and tail. Green side feathers point inward toward a dark body, while a pale front plane forms the chest and beak direction.

Neon green marks the active feather edges, charcoal supplies the bird body, and pale gray separates the chest. Keep the wings darker than the accent to avoid a flat green banner.

Try this variation: Use electric blue for a colder aerial signal.
